Patricia is a distinguished corporate communications expert in Zambia, boasting a wealth of experience and numerous accolades in her field. Assuming the role of Corporate Affairs Manager for the Electoral Commission of Zambia in December 2020, she brought with her a rich background in strategic communication and brand management.
Before her tenure at the Electoral Commission, Patricia served as Head of Public Relations at National Savings and Credit Bank Zambia, where she played a pivotal role in repositioning the bank’s brand and amplifying its presence in the market. Prior to that, she held similar positions at FNB (Zambia) and in the water and sanitation sector. Patricia’s career also includes significant contributions to mainstream media, where she led news management initiatives.
Patricia’s expertise extends to financial journalism, having earned a Master of Arts Degree in Financial Journalism from City, University of London, UK. Additionally, she holds qualifications in Mass Communication and International Relations from Cavendish University and Mulungushi University, respectively.
As a 2017-2018 recipient of the prestigious Chevening Scholarship, Patricia joined a global cohort of emerging leaders studying in the UK, contributing to positive change worldwide. Notable highlights of her thought leadership include delivering a keynote address at the Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa conference and presenting at international conferences such as those organized by the Great Lakes Region and the United Nations, focusing on the media’s role in promoting integrity and inclusivity in the electoral process.
Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Patricia was nominated by the US Department of State to participate in the International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP) on election management in April 2022. She was also honored as the Public Relations/Communications Practitioner of the Year 2021 by the Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication for her instrumental role in the delivery of Zambia’s 2021 General Election. Additionally, Patricia received two Accenture-Business Engage Gender Mainstreaming Awards as Positive Role Model Winner for Zambia and Public Service, further solidifying her reputation as a leader in her field.
In recognition of her exceptional achievements, Patricia was named among the 2022 Top 100 Career Women in Africa by 9to5, further cementing her status as a trailblazer and role model in the corporate communications landscape.
