Lenin Joined Mastercard in 2023 to lead the Telco Digital Partnerships segment in SSA, in this role he is responsible for overseeing Mastercard’s investments in the telco space, setting sales strategies and engaging with C-level stakeholders and focus in creating sustainable competitive differentiation for Mastercard and its customers.
Lenin is a Technology, Strategy & Business Executive with a passion for Leading Organizations and Innovations; making ever-changing Technology relevant and use my different positions of jurisdiction to influence actual policies and, consequently, embrace the needed change. He currently is the Telco industry Business leader for Africa, driving the Telco transformation and partnerships with Oracle in the continent. He works with a large multi-cultural team to deliver.

A visible leader in the research, deployment, and management of Technology, across different Industries & verticals globally. His Specialty in Technology, multiple industry applications and his generalization of understanding others Business processes have driven him to work across continents and various industries where Technology is applied. (Europe, Middle East & Africa) .

He also is a Business mentor for the YALI (Young Africa Leadership Program), where he mentors different people across East Africa on early career settlement and selection. He was previously the Region Head for Refinitiv across East Africa & Indian Ocean Islands and Regional Business Manager at Eseye, United Kingdom, where he handled the IOT technology adoption in Africa, Mkopa being a success and most extensive IOT deployment in Africa that he did oversee.
Lenin was among the top 40 under 40 recognized leaders in East Africa listed by Business Daily in 2017 & 2018, two years in a row and is a Board Advisor at Cherehani Africa (https://cherehani.org/ ) that endeavors to deliver satisfactorily coordinated programs to the members and builds entrepreneurs through social impact in Kenya. He also is a mentor in the New York-based We are a family foundation that powers youth around the world who are changing the game with their ideas, innovations, and social reasonable solutions (https://www.wearefamilyfoundation.org )
Lenin is a founding board member of the 30% club East Africa Chapter (https://30percentclub.org). The 30% Club aims to develop a diverse pool of talent for all businesses through its Chair and CEO members who are committed to better gender balance at all levels of their organizations. Business leadership is key to our mission, taking the issue beyond a specialist diversity effort and into mainstream talent management.
He was the World Economic Forum working group co-chair on financial inclusion focused on East Africa (2017-2019). He is a panelist and speaker on CIO Africa and speaks on big data, blockchain, disruptive Technology, analytics and where Technology is shaping and changing the continent. He sat on the American Chamber of Commerce East African chapter as a representative of his employer (2017-2019) to drive agenda and views that grow East Africa as a next frontier development market on Technology and more.

Lenin is a graduate of Electronic & Computer Engineering at JKUAT – Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology, M.Sc. Web Sciences & Big data from the University of Liverpool and an Oracle DBA.
