Patrick’s career experience spans 20 years in corporate business, 15 being at executive level. The multi sector experience includes manufacturing, shipping and logistics, downstream oil & gas, telecommunications and banking Some of the Global Corporates he has been associated with include Japan Tobacco International (TCC), Maersk Line, Reliance Industries Ltd (Gapco), Airtel, and currently Absa Bank Group. Within organizations Patrick’s experience, knowledge and skillset traverses Leadership and Strategic Management, Succession, Development and Management of Talent, Collective Bargaining, Employee relations, Workforce optimisation. Currently Patrick is the Director of People Function at Absa Bank Tanzania Limited.
Patrick Foya is an lao Adjunct Lecturer with the Strathmore Business School Academy in Tanzania since 2016. He facilitates a wide scope of management topics including Talent Management, Women in Leadership, Performance Management, Psychological Traps in Decision Making, Emotional Intelligence and Change Management. In addition, Patrick is a practicing Professional coach since 2017. As a Professional Certified Coach by International Coach Federation he is competent to deal with a gamut of coaching situations including life, performance, group transformational, creative coaching etc.
Patrick is a member of the Human Resources Society of Tanzania where he has contributed to the ongoing efforts to intitutionalise the Human Resources profession in the country. He holds a first class B.A Degree in Sociology from the National University of Lesotho and Masters in Business Administration from The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. Out of work Patrick is a Family man, father of two who enjoys traveling, dog breeding as is an avid reader in a wide range of topics. Patrick is trustworthy, relatable, curious, self-driven with a strong work ethic.
