Mojolaoluwa Aderemi-Makinde
Jola is the Head of Brand and Reputation for Google in Sub-saharan Africa. She is passionate about technology and its ability to unlock human potential and improve the general good. At Google, she has built relationships working in business development across various product areas and leading sales in Nigeria. She is now focused with her team on delivering Google’s commitments in Africa to drive economic opportunity on the continent by supporting entrepreneurship, job creation, education and gender equality. One of the flagship programs she leads is Grow with Google – a program initiated by Google Africa in 2017 to help create economic opportunity through free digital skills training. To date 5m+ Africans have benefited from the program – from students to jobseekers and small businesses with 49% female participation. She has a wealth of experience spanning multiple industries and geographies having also worked as a strategy consultant with Accenture amongst others. She is a strong diversity and inclusion champion. Jola is a mentor and advises on various programmes and boards. She was recently recognised as one of the 40 leading ladies driving the Sustainable Development Goals in Nigeria. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Lagos and a Masters in Management and Strategic Information Systems from the University of Bath. When she is not doing any of these, she is a wife, mum of 2, nature lover, aspiring chef, organizer, deep thinker and generally digging for gold in humans.
