Margaret Kimani
Margaret Kimani is a seasoned investment banker, mentor, transformational leader, a philanthropist and is a Kenyan born author of the best selling book titled “Unleash The Leadership In You”
She holds a BA (Maths & Economics) from Kenyatta University, Cum Laude Honors BSC (Finance) from Northeastern University-Boston, and Masters of Science MBA (Financial Economics) from Boston University, Massachusetts. She has worked as an Investment Banker at the State Street Bank of Boston, Massachusetts for over 10 years, and is currently the Head of Women & Youth Banking and doubles up as the Change Champion as a Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Ambassador at State Bank of Mauritius, Kenya. She has been very instrumental in driving change in the Kenyan Banking Industry since 2011 when she relocated back to Kenya where she started Diaspora Banking from scratch at Chase Bank. Her contribution toward a first ever Diaspora Policy formulation, African Institute of Remittances(AIR) before moving to Women Markets program has seen banking industry adopt innovative more inclusive financial practices particularly in financial literacy to educate, empower and protect customers’ financial wellbeing.
A member of the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC), Margaret is passionate about SMEs, customer centric innovations and job creation. She is an award-winning mentor with the Presidential DigiTalent Programme and champions UN Women Empowerment Principles at SBM. She is the Founder of Nduta Angels Foundation (www.ndutaangels.org)
She is the mother of one adorable daughter and enjoys spending quality time traveling with family, speaking, and mentoring youths.

WORK: Investment Banker by training with over 20 years of international banking experience. She started her career working for Fortune 500 world largest custodian bank -StateStreet Bank of Boston Massachusetts and moved up the ranks of Corporate America ladder purely by merit which involved wealth management, global pricing (NAV)of major funds of all major world stock exchanges at close of trading, investment management through State Street Global Advisors (SSGA)- asset administration of servicing of sophisticated assets of global institutions’ funds such as Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Silver Crest, Lehman Brothers, JPMorgan, Merrill Lynch. In 2011 she successfully developed Chase Bank’s Diaspora Banking from scratch and grew it till 2016 when she was appointed to head Education/Youth Banking till Aug 2018.
