Joy-Marie Lawrence is the founding director of Boardvisory, www.Boardvisory.com a niche Board consultancy and coaching firm. She has been an accredited Chartered Director, since 2017, and a fellow of the Institute of Directors of South Africa, since 2009. Joy-Marie is also a lawyer and a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation.

Joy-Marie has more than 20 years of Board experience and is currently active as a Board Chair and Non-Executive Director on several Boards in the Public, Private, and NGO sectors.

Joy-Marie is a governance specialist with the Institute of Directors of South Africa (IODSA). She designs and delivers Board governance content, Board Retreats, and Board Simulations for clients of listed and unlisted enterprises in South Africa and Africa. She is also passionate about supporting women on the journey to the Boardroom and specifically designs and delivers content for women in the boardroom.

Joy-Marie’s academic qualifications include an Executive MBA (cum laude), Master of Law, LLB, and BA.
